Hello Friends of Living Hope Ranch!

The rewards of working with the children and youth who visit the Ranch are as beautiful as they are bountiful.  Enjoy some stories straight from our Ranch kids and their parents here….

Kyra and Gilead

My husband and I had been looking for a place where our daughter, Kyra, could go learn via hands-on experience about her interest in farm animals. I asked Jenn over the summer if she was willing to have an intern and she told me about the Leadership Trek program at Living Hope Ranch.

Honestly my husband and I were so overjoyed at the opportunity for Kyra to get involved that we basically told her she was going to do it (she is very shy and was unsure at first!) Kyra has loved every second she has been able to spend at the Ranch. Every evening she came home with a smile on her face, even the nights she was sore from riding or farm work!

Besides the opportunity to work alongside animals my husband and I were also pleased with who Kyra would be working and learning from –  Jenn is a fantastic role model for Kyra. They clicked so well! I know that when Kyra is with Jenn, she is getting attention and affirmation from a person who truly cares about what she does – not just on the ranch but in her personal life too.

The Bible talks about knowing people by the fruit they produce and Jenn produces good fruit. Kyra mentions often how Jenn’s kids are “different” and it is a positive difference. I know that Jenn is practicing what she teaches and I love that my daughter notices it. For Steven and I, that is probably the best part about Kyra going to the Ranch: she gets to be around a successful and Christ-loving person.

We appreciate all Jenn has done with Kyra and we can’t wait for Ranch days to open up again next season.”

Dear Miss Jenn, I just wanted to say thank you so much for this amazing summer working at the ranch. It was a great experience and I learned so much! Your faith in God is so inspiring to me, and I hope to one day hear His voice just as clearly as you do. Just the other day, my mom and I saw a group of deer heading towards the road, and my mom said “Go back to the woods!” And they all abruptly turned around and fled. I have you to thank for that, and that is just one of the many things our time together has taught me. I loved both the farm work and helping with the session kids; I feel very strongly that this was something God wanted me to do, and I am so happy that I was able to obey his will through this work. I hope you have an amazing and blessed year, and that next year all of your baby animals do well. I will be praying for that!
